The south of Czechia is famous for its ponds and castles. This time I’m taking you on a daytrip to a less known, but super significant place called Czech Sahara, then for lunch and finally for a tour of the one-of-its-kind castle, Červená Lhota.

- Country Saloon Řípec in case you are by car. Bill around 450 CZK for two.
- Restaurace Beseda in Veselí is also fine if you can’t or don’t want to drive to Řípec. Bill around 550 CZK for two.
- Červená Lhota
- 15:30-16:00 if you visit the castle only
- 15:30-17:00 if you visit the castle, walk around the castle gardens and rent a boat for 30min
- Entry fee: 100 CZK / adult or 180 CZK/adult for a guided tour in English (available for groups only)
- Parking: 60 CZK / day

Transport
By car
The map shows both the driving part and walks. Veselí has free parking on the main square, Červená Lhota offers parking for 60 CZK for your entire visit.
By public transport from Prague – use IDOS for planning
- Take the train to Veselí nad Lužnicí (1hr 50min)
- For Červená Lhota, take the train to Soběslav and then a bus to Pluhův Žďár,Červená Lhota (1hr 6min)
